V2.0 INDEPENDENCE & COMMUNITY RULES

Trust starts with clear
affiliation, sources, and limits.

This policy defines Wire's independence, public-source boundary, privacy controls, pseudonymous participation, moderation, and removal process. Material changes will be versioned.

01 / INDEPENDENCE

Independent personal project

VLSI Wire is a personal project built independently by a Synopsys employee. All editorial and product judgments are personal views and do not represent Synopsys endorsement, sponsorship, approval, or official positions.

Employment is not presented as a credential for privileged information. Relevant conflicts should be disclosed. Nothing on Wire is investment, legal, or employment advice.

02 / PUBLIC SOURCES

Public, non-confidential inputs only

The news feed takes only titles, publishers, timestamps, and original links from vetted public RSS feeds. Public posts from reviewed X accounts are shown through the official X API and embeds. Wire does not copy or automatically summarize article bodies.

Never submit non-public employer or customer information, NDA material, restricted documents, source code, logs, design data, unpublished yield, results or roadmaps, or material non-public information (MNPI).

Submitted URLs receive lexical protocol, host, and credential checks; Wire does not fetch the destination during validation. It therefore cannot guarantee against DNS rebinding or redirects after a click. Independently verify the final destination before signing in or downloading files.

03 / NEWS & RANKING

News and ranking

Balanced top adds freshness (up to 50 points with a 48-hour half-life), provenance class (5–10), and real device votes (up to 30 on a logarithmic scale), then subtracts 7 for each earlier item from the same publisher or platform group. VLSI Korea receives the same 8 publisher points as peer outlets; there is no brand-specific boost.

When alternatives exist, the ranking avoids adjacent items from the same publisher or platform group and caps an exact source and its group at 1 of the first 10, 2 of the first 20, and 4 of the first 40. Medium tags, Reddit, arXiv, and X sub-sources share platform-level limits. Every item exposes its score factors and mix guardrail. Newest follows publish time only.

X posts are not eligible for Wire votes, and X likes or reposts do not enter the Wire score. X is an external signal, not verification or endorsement; check the original post and the underlying primary source independently.

Ranking is not a determination of truth, company value, investment merit, or technical superiority. Read the source and verify claims independently.

04 / ASKER

Ask with a public profile

Questions publish the asker's name, role, and personal LinkedIn profile. Submission requires separate consent to this disclosure and an attestation that the content is public and non-confidential.

Editors check only whether the submitted name and profile appear consistent. This is not LinkedIn identity verification, employment verification, or a guarantee that claims are accurate.

05 / ANSWER

Thread-specific pseudonyms

Answer forms do not ask for name, email, employer, or LinkedIn. The public page shows only a thread-specific pseudonym.

This is pseudonymity, not a promise of legal anonymity or untraceability. Abuse-control device and network hashes remain, and hosting infrastructure processes requests. Do not use Wire for whistleblowing, emergency reporting, or disclosures requiring legal protection.

06 / PROHIBITED CONTENT

Content that does not belong here

Wire may reject or remove doxxing, harassment, discrimination, unlawful material, exploit-enabling security details, unsourced rumors, investment promotion, or marketing that conceals a conflict.

You must have the right to submit any text or personal information. Link to a public primary source instead of reproducing protected material. When in doubt, do not submit.

07 / MODERATION & REPORTS

Moderation and reports

New questions, answers, and link submissions publish only after editorial review. A published answer is hidden and returned to review after reports from three network keys.

Review reduces risk but cannot guarantee accuracy, completeness, or the absence of confidential material. Suspected secrets or MNPI are not published and should be rejected immediately.

08 / PRIVACY & CONTROL

Data minimization and removal

The raw device key stays in an HttpOnly cookie. The app database stores purpose-specific SHA-256 device hashes and daily network hashes salted by UTC date. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the app database.

Send correction, removal, security, or confidentiality concerns to gc@vlsi.kr. A question body may remain in anonymized form when needed to preserve discussion context.

THE LINE

Discuss public facts.
Leave privileged information out.

Wire does not overstate anonymity, verification, corporate affiliation, or investment conclusions. It describes the actual collection, review, and display boundaries.
